The Gift of Digital Multimedia

Dr. Nathaniel Borenstein's co-creation of the MIME standard transformed digital communications, enabling us to see color and experience digital multimedia across all internet devices. Used trillions of times daily, it remains a cornerstone of modern connectivity—a lasting gift to the world.  Ironically, the person who helped bring colorful multimedia to the internet cannot see red due to severe protanopia.

Computer Vision Science Meets the Color Blind Computer Scientist

For millions with colorblindness, current solutions are often expensive, ineffective, or inconvenient. Dr. Nathaniel Borenstein experienced this frustration firsthand—no existing technology worked for him. Determined to create a better solution, he teamed up with Tom Neuendorffer to harness the power of Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence. They soon filed the first patents on ColorPhi.

A New Vision for Colorblindness

ColorPhi's advanced visual algorithms adapt each pixel to help colorblind individuals see colors they normally can't. By creating synthetic colors in the mind, it enables these hues to appear naturally, a process we call Chronochromics™—inspired by the Color Phi Phenomenon.

Unlike traditional color correction, ColorPhi reveals a deeper, richer spectrum of color, offering a uniquely personalized way to see and experience the world.

ColorPhi is Superhuman Vision™

ColorPhi extends beyond colorblindness, offering a method to bring the invisible into the visible spectrum—opening a world of perception previously unimaginable. ColorPhi™ isn’t just a tool for colorblindness of CVD. It’s a gift of wonder, designed to enhance vision for everyone.

The Gift of Color

ColorPhi supports 350 million colorblind people worldwide with free software. Partnering with Color Vision, Neuroscience, Computer Vision, and AI experts, we focus on testing, research, and innovation to create life-changing solutions.

We are creating software for mobile, desktop, and current AR/VR devices while we wait for the next generation of AR spectacles to be released. This lets users experience enhanced color perception now while we work toward even greater accessibility in the future.
