Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
ColorPhi is a visualization technology, which taps into the human visual system and leverages the Phi and Color Phi phenomenon to help users perceive more of the world around them. ColorPhi invented visual algorithms that display rhythmic color variations over time to convey more information than the eye can naturally perceive.
ColorPhi visual algorithms work by translating different inputs (such as certain wavelengths of color) into differentially colored images that are displayed rhythmically and rapidly enough that persistence of vision allows the brain to recognize the signals simultaneously. The combined sensory signals of differential color and rhythmic pulsing are relayed to the brain in combination (multiplexing) and then interpreted as portraying different spectra.
ColorPhi visual algorithms adjust colors dynamically to suit individual vision needs and to the situation at hand with near infinite options. ColorPhi users can personalize their experiences by defining their favorite algorithm settings that include items like algorithm used, algorithm adjustment settings, automations, sources and multiple cameras.
ColorPhi helps people with different vision types choose algorithms that fit individual needs. For example, algorithms could be set to help pilots identify runways more easily or dermatologists to identify moles on more melanated skin tones, or enhance the ability of color blind artists in their creative visual art or help artists make better colorblind aware art.
